The DAISY Awards are an international recognition program celebrating nurses who provide extraordinary compassionate care. Established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, the awards honor the remarkable impact nurses have on patients and families during their most vulnerable moments.
Any registered nurse can be nominated by patients, families, or colleagues, and selected honorees receive a certificate, a DAISY pin, and a unique hand-carved sculpture called “A Healer’s Touch”. These awards foster gratitude for nurses by spotlighting both clinical skill and kindness, inspiring peer recognition and a supportive work environment.
Thousands of healthcare facilities worldwide participate, making the DAISY Award one of the most respected honors in nursing, and helping remind nurses of the profound difference their compassion makes in patient care.
